Venice Art Walk & Auctions, 2009
The problem
Panoramic prints live on screens and installation walls — this was a chance to show them as fine art, in a gallery context, alongside painters and sculptors.

Mount large-format prints on easels in an outdoor garden setting for a juried, public art walk.

Exhibited at the 30th annual Venice Art Walk & Auctions, a benefit for the Venice Family Clinic — one of Southern California's original art walks.
The outcome
Shown alongside 400 original works from more than 60 artists' studios and ten homes, as part of an event that helped over 23,500 people access healthcare.
For its 30th anniversary in 2009, the Venice Art Walk & Auctions — the original Los Angeles art walk, and a benefit for the Venice Family Clinic — included Gavin’s large-format panoramic prints in an outdoor gallery garden, shown alongside work from more than 60 artists’ studios and ten homes across the neighborhood.

“You’ve probably been to other ‘art walks’ in LA, but you probably didn’t know the Venice Art Walk & Auctions is the original, and this year was its 30th anniversary. More than 60 artists’ studios, ten spectacular homes, and 400 original works that were bid on. This was the quintessential Southern California art event… and it helped more than 23,500 people get the health care they needed.”
