Reunion Tower — Aerial & Time-Lapse VR Experience

Reunion Tower’s geodesic dome — the illuminated sphere that has defined the Dallas skyline since 1978 — got two pieces of source photography built directly into a mobile app: an Aerial VR Experience, a 360 drone flight over the tower and the highway interchange below at sunrise, and a Time-Lapse VR Experience, a gigapixel night panorama shot from a rigging position on top of the dome’s own steel frame.

The tiny-planet frames on file show exactly how that second piece was made: harnessed to the dome’s structural trusses, camera rig in hand, downtown Dallas’ neon and the Bank of America Plaza’s green-lit tower spinning around him in the panorama. It is the same install-from-the-inside approach used at Sutro Tower and Kion Tower — the landmark becomes the camera platform, not just the subject.

The finished app’s UI — a simple two-tile menu, “AERIAL VR EXPERIENCE” and “TIME-LAPSE VR EXPERIENCE” under the Reunion Tower wordmark — is on file as a phone mockup. The app itself, Reunion Tower VR, was published by Wemersive Inc.; the gigapixel and aerial photography inside it is Panogs’ capture. Reunion Tower’s operator separately commissioned a much larger physical installation from Stimulant around the same era — the GeO-Deck’s twin “Halo” displays, a 60-foot interactive wall for the observation deck’s owner, Hunt Consolidated. That installation is Stimulant’s own, credited directly to them rather than to Panogs, and is noted here only as context: the tower got two separate digital builds in the same period, and this project is the mobile-app one.

• Rigged onto Reunion Tower’s geodesic dome to shoot a gigapixel night time-lapse from inside the landmark’s own structure
• Captured a separate 360 aerial drone flight of the tower and surrounding interchange
• Supplied both as the source imagery for Wemersive Inc.’s “Reunion Tower VR” mobile app

Exact 2018–2019 dates come from file timestamps rather than a documented shoot date, and Gavin’s production credit inside the Wemersive app itself isn’t independently confirmed — the drive imagery and the app’s own content match closely enough to be confident this is the same capture, but that specific credit line hasn’t been found in writing anywhere.
