Spearheaded the virtual reality advertising strategies for Yahoo!  Developed and deployed creative strategies for Tumblr including advertorial sponsored pages cinemagraphs and panoramic mobile interactives. Developed metric based innovation systems.

Designed and delivered rich-media ad campaigns, micro-sites, animated video reels, print collateral, email templates and sales decks. Implemented Mobile Ad products including Yahoo! Image Ads and mobile microsites.

Designed rich-media ad campaigns for every major US brand (tier 1 & 2). Repurposed brand assets and created complex interactive animated ad units becoming video ads, animated wallpapers, expandable ad units, floaters, micro-sites, sweepstakes and Yahoo! Mail ads. Built out and deployed mixed media ads units using an internal Yahoo! Ad Platforms.

Stitching of TIME Magazine's One World Trade Center Gigapixel Panorama

Before the One World Trade Center was opened to the public Time Inc. brought a small crew to shoot a hyper-resolution  360º image of the view 10' out from the very top of the spire.  Gavin stitched and combined the massive data from four hemispherical image-arrays.  Time Inc. used the final image as the magazine's first ever tri-fold cover.   The Interactive online experience was used as the centerpiece of Time's rebranded website launch. Mark Zuckerberg also choose this image to announce the launch of 360 photos on Facebook.

Interactive Flash Designer, IGNITED, 4/2006 - 5/2007

At IGNITED responsibilities included design, action-scripting, and creation of micro-sites with companion online ad campaigns. Main clients were Sony Vaio Latin America, U.S. Army, Electronic Arts, Activision, Cadbury-Schweppes, Fox Networks, NBC/Universal, Buena Vista Games, THQ, LA Weekly, and iRadio-motorola. Online Ad production consisted of art-directing and production using third-party vendors: PointRoll, Eye-wonder, and Code 360.

Manager New Media, Warner Bros. TelevisiON, 9/2005 - 4/2006

Responsibilities included R&D into emerging technologies, technical design of www.thewb.com and other Warner Bros. sites, design of all network pilot micro-sites, and production of internal Warner Brothers Intranet sites.

Webmaster, Gnomon School of Visual Effects, 11/2004 - 12/2005

As Web-Master for the Gnomon School of Visual Effects Gavin implemented a major rebrand and structural overhaul of the preexisting website. He managed/produced all internal video and photography for faculty/staff and public events. He maintained the asset database management of student work and designed the online ad campaigns for the institution.

Gavin Farrell 

As an illustrator his large hyper realistic murals can be seen in public and private collections around the country including collaborations with iconic LA Muralist Kent Twitchell.

As an animator he spent a decade evolving the online advertising technology at Ignited USA, Warner Brothers, and Yahoo! INC.

As a panoramic photographer he partnered with xRez Studio to capture the Yosemite Extreme Panoramic Imaging Project. In 2010 he worked alongside Canon's "Explorer of Light" Clint Clemens and Art Historian Thomas Laird to capture Gigapixel imagery throughout Tibet.  Gavin's expertise in image composition made him invaluable in the final stitched image for the historic TIME Inc. One World Trade Center 360º image.

He is the Co-founder of the Emmy award winning Virtual Reality design company PANOGS.
